Resources for you

  • Supervisor-Student Conversation Starters: The relationship between you and your supervisor is foundational to your successful completion of your program. The items in the document are designed to act as a conversation guide, helping align expectations of supervisors and graduate students.
  • Thesis template (.docx format): This template provides a guide for students in the correct format and style of a master’s or doctoral thesis.

Graduate Professional Skills workshops

  • Scientific Writing for Academic Success: Tuesday, July 31 from 9 a.m. to noon. This workshop will introduce participants to the reader-centred approach to scientific writing. This workshop is currently full so we're maintaining a waitlist. If you're interested in attending, sign up and we'll contact you if a space becomes available!
  • Looking for additional workshops and training opportunities this summer? Check out the Mitacs offerings - in-person workshops are being offered in Toronto and Waterloo! Also a wide variety of online workshops available.

Thesis deadlines

  • Please be aware of upcoming Thesis, Master's Projects and Major Papers deadlines for the 2017-2018 academic year. Last day for oral examination in the current term, last day for completion of project review in the current term, and deadline to submit final thesis package are approaching! Volunteer opportunities

  • The Office of the Vice-President Research, Innovation and International seeks experts from each faculty to judge posters at the Student Research Showcase on Thursday, August 23. If you are available that day, contact and provide your name and top two faculties you feel best qualified to judge.
